Gender neutral toilet map

We’re proud to announce, in collaboration with Estates and Facilities and the LGBTQ+ Student Network, new maps and detailed information on our gender neutral toilets across all campuses. We are fortunate to have so many buildings and campuses across London, and hope the map and spreadsheet help make navigating our campuses more comfortable.

In 2015, trans students campaigned for inclusive toilet facilities. Many trans students reported strong feelings of dysphoria as well as instances of abuse or questioning from other people when going into gendered toilet facilities (i.e., female or male-only facilities). After an open meeting with over 100 attendees, King's committed to providing at least one gender-neutral toilet on each campus.

Strand Campus

  • Bush House: every floor in every block and wing has gender neutral toilets. The ground floor has gender a neutral shower.

  • Chesham building: floors -2 and 2 have gender neutral toilets. 

  • King's Building: floors -1 and 2 have gender neutral toilets.  Floor -1  has gender a neutral shower.

  • King's Building South West Block:  floor 1  has gender a neutral toilet.

  • Macadam Building: floors -3, -2, -1, G, 1, 2 and 4 have  gender a neutral toilets. Floor -3  has gender a neutral shower.

  • Maughan Library: floor 1 mezzanine has a gender neutral toilet. Floor LG  has gender a neutral shower.

  • Norfolk Building: floor 2  has gender a neutral toilet.

  • Philosophy Building: the ground floor and floor 3  have a gender a neutral toilet.

  • Quad Building: floors -2 and -1 have gender neutral toilets. Floor -1  has gender a neutral shower.

  • Somerset House East Wing: floor 1 has a gender neutral toilet. 

  • Strand Building: floors -3, -2 and -1 have gender neutral toilets.

  • Virginia Woolf Building: floor 2 has a gender neutral toilet. 

Guy's Campus

  • Addison House: floors 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and mezzanine level  have  gender neutral toilets. 

  • Britannia House: floor 2 has a  gender neutral toilet. 

  • Greenwood Theatre: the ground floor has a gender neutral toilet.  Floor 1 has a gender neutral shower.

  • New Hunt's House: the ground floor has gender neutral toilets.  

  • Henriette Raphael:  the ground floor has a gender neutral toilet.  

  • Hodgkin Building: the ground floor and basement floor, and floors 1, 2 3, 4 and 5 and have  gender neutral toilets. 

  • KCLSU East Wing: the ground floor has a gender neutral toilet. The ground floor has a gender neutral shower. 

  • KCLSU West Wing: floor 2  has gender a neutral toilet.

  • Science Gallery: floors 1  has a gender a neutral toilet.

  • Shepherd's House: the ground floor and floor 3 have gender neutral toilets. Floors 3 and 4 have a gender a neutral shower.

  • Wolfson Centre for Age-Related Diseases: the ground floor and floors 1, 2, 3 and 4  have  gender neutral toilets.  

St Thomas'

Please refer to St Thomas' Hospital maps for facilities.​

Denmark Hill Campus

  • Cecily Saunders Institute: floor 3  has a  gender neutral toilet and shower. 

  • David Goldberg Centre: the ground floor and floors 1, 2 and 3  have gender neutral toilets. 

  • Henry Wellcome Building: floor 2 has a gender neutral toilet.  

  • IoPPN Main Building: floor 1 has gender neutral toilets.  Floors 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 have gender neutral showers.

  • James Black Centre:  the ground floor and floors 1, 2 and 3  have gender neutral toilets. T he ground floor has a gender neutral shower.

  • Maurice Wohl Clinical Neuroscience Institute: the ground floor and floors 1, 2 and 3 and have gender  neutral toilets. 

  • Weston Education Centre: floor 1 has a gender neutral toilet. The ground floor has a gender neutral shower. 

  • SGDP:  floors 1, 2 and 3 have a gender neutral shower.

  • 4 windsor walk:  floors 1, 2 and 3 have a gender neutral shower.

Waterloo Campus

  • Franklin-Wilkins Building: the ground floor and floors 3, 6 and 8 have  gender neutral toilets.

  • James Clerk Maxwell Building: the ground floor and floor 4 have  gender neutral toilets. The ground floor and floors 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 have gender neutral showers

  • Waterloo Bridge Wing: the basement floor has a gender neutral toilet.  

Residences

  • Great Dover Street Apartments: the ground floor and basement floor have  gender neutral toilets.

  • Stamford Street Apartments: the ground floor has a gender neutral toilet. 

  • Wolfson House: the ground floor has a gender neutral toilet.
